Breastfeeding is the best for babies and a healthy diet / maternal nutrition is important when breastfeeding. A decision not to breastfeed can be difficult to reverse. Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed. It is recommended that all formula milks be used on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian, pharmacist, or other professional responsible for maternal and child care and the financial implications should be considered. All preparation and feeding instructions should be followed carefully as inappropriate preparation could lead to health hazards.

Smart Kids Omelette

Ingredients

  • 100g fresh salmon - sliced
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 tbsp sour light cream (optional)
  • 1 tbsp canola margerine
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Stove or oven method:

In a small bowl, beat the eggs, sour cream together. Season with salt and pepper if desired.

Melt the butter at medium heat in a non stick pan and pour the egg mixture and let cook until the egg is half-cooked.

Arrange the sliced salmon over the runny top of the omelet.

Let cook until salmon is 3/4 cooked and egg base is set.

Loosen the omelet in the pan and carefully flip over and cook for 30 seconds.

Slide the omelet onto a serving plate and fold in half.

Salmon and eggs are rich in omega fatty acids – essential for normal growth and development as well as brain function.​​
