Breastfeeding is the best for babies and a healthy diet / maternal nutrition is important when breastfeeding. A decision not to breastfeed can be difficult to reverse. Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed. It is recommended that all formula milks be used on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian, pharmacist, or other professional responsible for maternal and child care and the financial implications should be considered. All preparation and feeding instructions should be followed carefully as inappropriate preparation could lead to health hazards.

"Different stages of milk are formulated for different age groups and tailored according to that Recommended Dietary Allowances of that age group. The combination of nutrient levels is different to cater to the needs of children at different stages of growth. Mamil® Gold with PreciNutri™Step 3 has a highest content of DHA among all the growing up milk formulas in Singapore which is an important building block for development of brain and eyes for your baby. During the first 3 years of life, your child's brain achieves 4 times its size at birth, reaching 80% of adult weight by age 2. Nevertheless, overall nutrient composition is always higher in the lower stage of formula milk. Also Mamil® Gold with PreciNutri™ Step 3 contains high amount of Carbohydrates, Calcium and B vitamins as compared to Mamil® Gold with PreciNutri™ Step 2. It is fine for some mums to continue Mamil® Gold with PreciNutri™ Step 2 after your baby turns 1 year old if they prefer. Mums can take their time to move on to next stage of milk i.e. there is no hurry to change formulation exactly when the child turns 1 as some children may still be sensitive to formulation change. Children has an increased reliance on solid foods as they grow, and growing-up milk caters to children who are already able to obtain important nutrients from other food sources. Therefore, a mother may choose to switch the child when she is 1 years 1 month old and another mother may start when the child is at 2 years old."

"What we did was to give her Dumex Mamil, 120ml of Step 3 and 90ml of Step 2 for her night feed. As I am still breast feeding and we believed in that way, my girl will not miss out on the nutrients she needs."
