Breastfeeding is the best for babies and a healthy diet / maternal nutrition is important when breastfeeding. A decision not to breastfeed can be difficult to reverse. Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed. It is recommended that all formula milks be used on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian, pharmacist, or other professional responsible for maternal and child care and the financial implications should be considered. All preparation and feeding instructions should be followed carefully as inappropriate preparation could lead to health hazards.

Fish Fingers with Tomato

No-added-salt    Dairy-free

Ingredients

  • 200 g white fish fillet such as cod and haddock (check for bones carefully)
  • 1 tbsp of tomato purée on a plate
  • 2 tbsp of plain flour seasoned with pepper on a plate
  • 1 egg, beaten

 

Stove or oven method:

Cut the fish into finger sized strips.

Heat oil in a frying pan.

Dip each strip of fish in the tomato purée, then the egg, then the flour and then place in hot pan.

Cook all fingers for 10 minutes.

 

Tips:

While frying, break one fish finger in half to check that fish is cooked all the way through.​​
